Invisible Women, Hidden Lives
It is now widely recognised that women’s experience of life is often missed from research and statistics. This can result in decisions, strategies and policies that omit women’s needs and reduces the effectiveness of attempts to reduce child poverty etc.

About The Event
“The result of this deeply male-dominated culture is that the male experience, the male perspective, has come to be seen as universal, while the female experience--that of half the global population, after all--is seen as, well, niche.”
Caroline Criado-Pérez, Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men
This session will start with a panel discussion on the impact of omitting women’s experience from policy and strategy, how this can be overcome and will then invite participants to identify what would improve the situation and contribute these ideas to the Solidarity Against Neoliberal Extremism’s People’s Plan for Glasgow.
